How to: Adjusting the GG750 Girard Awning on Your Van

Adjusting your awning doesn’t have to be intimidating, even for beginners! To get the most out of your GG750 Girard awning, adjusting it properly is key to maximizing durability and performance. We will walk you through why you may need to adjust your awning and share our step-by-step video below to show you how to keep it operating properly.

Why You Might Need to Adjust the GG750 Girard Awning

Over time, you may notice your awning excessively slanted, failing to close all the way, or making a funny sound when driving, so it's important to know which adjustments to make to fix the issue(s) at hand.

Awning pitch: the adjustment nuts may loosen over time, causing the awning rail to droop.

During retraction of the awning, the roller pulls the awning in via the fabric, which will stretch over time and the awning may not close all the way. This requires a motor limit adjustment.

Elbow height: improperly adjusted elbows will bind during retraction and cause a knocking or banging noise in the awning housing.
